Welcome
Our Mission... "Grace Church of Plainfield is a welcoming and affirming Christian community characterized by diversity, worshiping, and praising God in the Anglican tradition and proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed in active discipleship."

Welcome to the Grace Church Website!

The most important piece of information you could ever get from a website is this, “God is love; he who dwells in love is dwelling in God, and God in him.”  (1 John 4.16)

In a world that can sometimes be judgmental and harsh, the most important thing I want people to remember about Christianity is this passage of scripture: “God is love.”  And that is our goal at Grace Church – to be a parish that dwells in God’s love and our love for each other and our neighbor.

So, welcome to our website!

We are glad you are paying us a visit.  There is a lot going on at Grace Church here in Plainfield, New Jersey!  We would love to have your join us for worship on Sunday at the 8:00 a.m. service in the All Saints’ Chapel, or at 10:30 a.m. in the church

If you are new guest to our website or our parish, we invite you to join our many Bible study.  The Tuesday evening Adult bible study begins at 7:30 p.m. and is the perfect place to form new and lasting friendships.  Other programs of study include a Sunday morning Adult Forum at 9:00 a.m.

Bring your children to Kid’s Church School on Sundays!  Our committed and energetic teachers plan lots of fun and learning for our kids.  If your child is 7-12 years old, come to the 9:30 a.m. class.  Younger children, ages 3-6 year olds have a great time at their 10:30 a.m. class.  They join us for church during Communion.

I’m excited about the opportunities to serve the people in need of Plainfield.  Grace’s Kitchen, our soup kitchen, the Plainfield Girlchoir after school program and the Family Literacy Program serve the needs of our community.  You may feel called to serve as a host with our guests who are homeless and who dwell with us three weeks out of the year.  I invite you to read more about these programs.

As you can read by our mission statement, we are diverse congregation.  We claim and affirm this diversity as a gift from God.  Through beautiful worship and praising God, we are equipped each week to serve God in our households, on the job and in our community.

We believe that when we gather each week at the altar to share in Christ’s gift of his body and blood and to give thanks for his sacrifice for us on the cross and his resurrection, we are united Christ and each other.  With so many challenges facing us in this world, this union brings us peace and renewal.

This renewal gives us courage and strength to be reconciling, healing and peaceful disciples in the city of Plainfield.

We are followers of Jesus Christ who teaches us how to be disciples.  When we follow him, we begin to live a life that is deeply rewarding, prayerful and caring.  Come join us at Grace Church!
